Traveler enthusiasm for Storm Lake is running high, evidenced by eager early bookings for the spring and summer season at community-owned King’s Pointe Waterpark Resort.
The resort opened summer rates for booking on January 15, resort General Manager Amy Von Bank reported to the city council. On that single day, King’s Pointe booked over $182,000 in hotel rooms and $51,000 in cottage rentals for the period May through Labor Day – demand so high that it briefly crashed the booking website.
In the few days to follow, another $50,000 in hotel rooms and $12,000 in cottage rentals were booked.
“People are really excited to come to the lake this summer,” Von Bank told the council. “It’s a great start to projecting a busy summer.”
King’s Pointe is a winner of the Iowa Tourism Outstanding Lodging Award. More information on tourism accommodations, and a link for online booking, can be found here: https://www.kingspointeresort.com/
