The City of Storm Lake will begin accepting nomination papers on Monday, August 25, 2025, for the upcoming city election this fall. Residents interested in running for office must reside within the city limits of Storm Lake. Candidates must collect 50 signatures on the nomination petition forms.
Nomination papers can be picked up at the following locations:
- Storm Lake City Hall – 620 Erie Street
- Buena Vista County Auditor’s Office – 317 E. 5th Street
- Iowa Secretary of State’s Website – sos.iowa.gov/city-elections
Completed nomination papers must be filed at City Hall no later than 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
