The City of Storm Lake continues to work to return two of its nine wells to service, but plans to lift Water Conservation Emergency measures in place this week as of Saturday, March 22.
Repairs are being completed today on one of two wells that have been out of service. DNR-required water testing is taking place, with results expected tomorrow. Once approval takes place, the City anticipates returning the well to service immediately. This will relieve some of the pressure on the local water supply and should allow the water system to operate at near normal capacity.
Obtaining parts and repairs on the remaining out-of-service well may take several additional days.
The City of Storm Lake would like to express appreciation for all of the residents and businesses cooperating with the Water Emergency measures this week, including the car wash businesses that have complied. Your conservation efforts have helped the community through a difficult period, ensuring an adequate supply of water for all.
