Coming up - a great chance to learn about home fire prevention and safety. Bring the kids and meet your Storm Lake firefighters at any of these Fire Prevention Week special events!
ABOUT FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
Fire Prevention Week is fast approaching. This years theme is "Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!"
All week we will have events and activities focused on fire safety, prevention and education. We will be at Hy-Vee, Chautauqua Park and the Storm Lake Public Library
with the Fire Safety House and handout materials and activities!
New this year, we will be having a coloring contest for Storm Lake Community School District & Storm Lake St. Mary's School students! Students in kindergarten through third grade are eligible to participate. The coloring sheets are available on this post and will also be distributed by the students teachers during fire prevention week.
All entries must be turned in to the students teacher by Friday October 12th. One winner from each grade will be selected. The winners will receive a Fire Prevention Week themed prize pack and a ride around the school in a fire truck (with parental approval and release).
La Semana de la Prevención de Incendios se acerca rápidamente. El tema de este año es "Alarmas de humo: ¡Haga que funcionen para usted!"
Toda la semana tendremos eventos y actividades enfocadas en seguridad, prevención y educación contra incendios. ¡Estaremos en Hy-Vee, Chautauqua Park y la biblioteca pública de Storm Lake con la Casa de Seguridad contra Incendios y materiales y actividades distribuidos!
¡Como novedad este año, tendremos un concurso de colorear para los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar Comunitario de Storm Lake y de la Escuela Storm Lake St. Mary! Los estudiantes desde jardín de infantes hasta tercer grado son elegibles para participar. Las hojas para colorear están disponibles en esta publicación y también serán distribuidas por los estudiantes y profesores durante la semana de prevención de incendios.
Todas las inscripciones deben entregarse al maestro del estudiante antes del viernes 12 de octubre. Se seleccionará un ganador de cada grado. Los ganadores recibirán un paquete de premios temático de la Semana de Prevención de Incendios y un paseo por la escuela en un camión de bomberos (con la aprobación y autorización de los padres).
