Yesterday (Aug. 8th), staff at the Storm Lake water plant determined that a mechanical failure had occurred in the treatment process. That issue was quickly resolved with no interruption of service. Due to the failure, some water that may appear slightly cloudy or discolored was released into the system. That water is still safe to consume and meets all of the state and federal regulations for drinking water. Any discoloration residents notice should clear up quickly as water moves through the system.
