[ARCHIVED] Grant helps to provide new SLPD digital information sign

  The addition to the police department was made possible, in part, by grant funding from the Buena Vista County Community Foundation. Cost for the sign, programming and installation is estimated at $50,000 or slightly higher. The grant provided $25,000 toward the project.

  “The primary objective of our new sign is to function as a communications tool for our community,” Police Chief Chris Cole said. “Its applications will allow us to share real time information in multiple languages related to SLPD outreach events, safety tips, missing persons reports, Amber Alerts, snow emergencies, city news, employment opportunities, and various other public service announcements.

  “We’re grateful for the support from the BV Community Foundation and look forward to sharing the positive impact this project will have on keeping our community informed and safe,” Chief Cole added.
