Responsibilities
The Public Services Department is comprised of the Streets Division and the Parks Division.
The Streets Division strives to maximize the life of the Storm Lake’s transportation and infrastructure facilities though preventive maintenance and a prioritized and efficient replacement schedule.
The Streets Division provides the following services:
- Street Repairs
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Snow Removal
- Traffic Control Devices
- Blading and Graveling of gravel surfaces
- Spraying and mowing rights of ways
- Sweeping all streets every 3 to 4 weeks
- Extensive patching of city streets
- Traffic Striping and markings
- Maintenance of the Storm Water Collection system
- Placement and removal of public docks
