Citywide Clean-Up 2020


Limited to Storm Lake Residential Properties Only

The City of Storm Lake will NOT be picking up items from the curb.

Fall Clean Up
October 16, 2020 to October 18, 2020
Disposal containers will be located at the City’s Public Services yard located at 433 Vilas Road.  The residents of Storm Lake must bring unwanted items to that location for proper disposal on the dates listed below.  Items must originate from residential properties.
Appliances, Tires, and TV’s requires the purchase of a  Fall Clean-Up Sticker and must be attached to the item.  Stickers will be available for purchase beginning on October 1, 2020, at City Hall located at 620 Erie Street.  

Following is the schedule with drop off time:

Friday, October 16, 2020    12:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Saturday, October 17, 2020    8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Sunday, October 18, 2020    8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Drop off Items Allowed: 

  • Grills, Carpet, Glass

  • Old Furniture

  • Other Large Bulky Items

  • Car Batteries

  • Push Lawn Mowers  (No oil or gasoline)

  • Tires - $2.00 per item (Any Size - No Rims) 

  • Appliances  - $5.00 per item (Remove Doors)

  • TV’s  & Computer Screens - $5.00 (Any Size)

(Provide purchased ticket at drop off  location)

The following are considered appliances and WILL require an “Appliance Sticker” for drop off:

Water Heaters
Water Softeners
Washing Machines
Window Air Conditioners

Items Not Allowed:

  • No Paint
  • No Yard Waste
  • No Propane Tanks
  • No  Dead Animals
  • No Fluorescent Lights
  • No Household Cleaners
  • No Hazardous Materials
  • No Riding Lawn Mowers
  • No  Junk Cars & Car Parts
  • No Construction Materials 
  • (Drywall, Sheetrock, Lumber, Shingles)
  • No Toilets/Tubs/Sinks - No Ceramic/Porcelain Items

Items may be  discarded at the Harold Rowley Recycle Center (fees may  apply)
