The City of Storm Lake continues with the Annual Hydrant Flushing throughout the city. The process will continue until all 548 hydrants are completed. If residents notice dirty or rusty-looking water they should flush their lines by running the COLD water faucet nearest the water meter for 5-10 minutes. Avoid washing white clothes until the water is clear. For more information visit www.stormlake.org/hydrant
Zone 1 – Complete
An area bounded by Abner Bell Road on the west side from the Lakeshore on the south and bounded by Terrance Street on the east and to the north City Limits and Lakecreek also.
Zone 2 – Complete
Geneseo to Terrence Street Bounded on the north by Milwaukee Ave to the Lake. Additionally, a second area will be flushed from Barton Street to Lake Avenue bounded on the north by 9th street and bounded on the south by Milwaukee Ave.
Zone 4 and 5 – Complete
Bounded on the west by Geneseo Street and on the north and east by Milwaukee and Flindt Drive and on the south by 3rd Street. Additionally, in an area bounded by Lake Avenue on the west by Russell street on the east by 580th Street on the north and by Milwaukee Ave on the south. Finally, an area bounded by Vestal Street on the west, Lake Avenue on the east, by 580th Street on the north, and on the south by Hy-Vee’s property.
Zone 3 – Complete
An area bounded by Geneseo Street on the west side from Chautauqua Park Drive on the south and bounded by Flindt Drive on the east and to the north by Bair Street and 3rd Street.
Zone 6 – Complete
Bounded on the west by Russell Street on the north by E. 10th Street and the east by Hwy 71 and on the south by E Milwaukee Avenue. Also, an area bounded on the north by E. Milwaukee Avenue on the west by Flindt Drive on the south by Lakeside corporate limits and on the east by Hwy 71.
Zone 7 – Started , May 26, 2022
Area Bounded by Frank Starr and the north shore of Storm Lake on the north, on the west an area starting 400 ft west of Praire Lane, bounded on the south by C65, and on the east by Hwy 71
