The communication coordinator handles press releases, social media, tourism promotion, photography and video – telling the city's story.  


Also included in the department’s duties are:

    Event planning and management

    Networking with other agencies and projects in the community

    Following city council and board/commission meetings

    Creating website content 

    Marketing assistance for King’s Pointe Resort, Public Library, Sunrise Campground
     and other Storm Lake amenities

    Grant writing for City projects

    Creating periodic reports to measure progress on City goals

    Raising awareness of State and Federal regulations in the community

    Service on Disaster Preparedness network in the county

    Representing the City on various committees in the community

    Promoting public art and music opportunities
