Little Lake Discovery Boardwalk
Welcome
Welcome to the home page for the Storm Lake Little Lake Discovery Center Boardwalk. The boardwalk is an interpretive trail and boardwalk system into little Storm Lake, a hemi marsh located on the west side of Storm Lake.
The boardwalk includes a handicapped accessible trail over land to a handicapped accessible board walk that goes out into the Little Lake area for first hand viewing of the natural environment. At the junction of the boardwalk and the land based trail is a two story observation tower that visitors can climb to view the area from a different perspective. The observation tower is not handicapped accessible.
Viewing scope is available on top of the observation tower. The project is a successful collaboration of the following groups:
- Buena View Garden Club
- City of Storm Lake
- Buena Vista County Community Foundation
- Lake Preservation Association
