JOIN THE SLFD CADET PROGRAM

A new program will allow young people to learn about local fire and emergency services with hands-on experience.  The Storm Lake Fire Department is offering a Junior Firefighter program – a first for the department. Area young people ages 14-19 may apply.

Members of the Junior Firefighter program will participate in training and activities in much the same way as regular Storm Lake Fire Department members do. The Juniors will be able to respond to calls alongside the fire department members to observe and learn, but they will not participate in live firefighting emergencies. For more information, contact the department at 712-732-8010 or email firedepartment@stormlake.org.

Applications are available at the Storm Lake Fire Station, 820 Oneida Street, or see the links below. Parental permission is required.
