ReLeaf Program

Program Overview
The ReLeaf Program is a joint program between the IDNR, Alliant Energy, and the City of Storm Lake to supply discounted trees to local Alliant Energy customers to plant in on their property. The goal of the program is to utilize trees to help reduce energy needs within the community.

FALL 2014 is the next planned distribution. Order forms are available now!

The program is only offered during select years so please check back to see if the program is currently being offered.

How the Program Works

The program is available to residents of Buena Vista County and Storm Lake Iowa who are customers of Alliant Energy. Eligible residents may purchase up to two (2) trees on a first come first serve basis by pre-ordering the trees through the City of Storm Lake using the official order form located on this web page.

There are a limited number of trees available (for a complete listing please see the next section of this page) and as orders come in the City will place holds until all the trees are reserved.

All trees that are pre-ordered must be picked up on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in AWAYSIS Park in Storm Lake between the hours of 8AM and 10AM. Any trees not picked up by 10AM on September 27, 2014 will be considered a donation to the City of Storm Lake and will be planted in a park or open area of the community.

Payment must accompany the order form in order for your tree to be reserved. Payment can be made in cash or by check. Checks should be made payable to the City of Storm Lake. Please note that checks that are returned for insufficient funds will be charged with a $30.00 NSF Fee per Iowa Code.

Order forms can picked up and dropped off at City Hall during normal business hours (8AM to 5PM - Monday thru Friday). Order forms can also be mailed to the City of Storm Lake, PO Box 1086, Storm Lake, Iowa 50588 - please put attention to Re-Leaf Program on the outside of the envelope.
